How to Assemble a Döner!

When pre-heated in a 400ºF/200ºC. A Lodge Griddle Pan, and a Lodge Bacon press, pare together as a Panini Press. If you don’t have these, get creative. A flat pan, and a slightly smaller pan is better than nothing.

Put the bread in the press. Close the oven, and set a five minute timer.

After 5 minutes, nice and toasty

And a toasty bottom, this bread is ready to assemble!

Squirt your sauce! Garlic, herb, yogurt sauce goes on the bottom. It seals the crumb from the meat juices. The spicy sauce goes on top. If you don’t do spicy, use more yogurt based sauce.

Put your meat inside. Put just the right amount in. Use 6.35 oz/180 g up to 7.75 oz/220 g. Now is a good time to shake on some Pul Biber, chili flake powder blend.

Now is when you add your pickled Jalapeños or the Turkish pickled hot peppers. See the stems in the picture? You will want to cut those off before you assemble your Döner… ;-)

Add the lettuce, parsley, onions, cucumber, and tomato as desired. Finish it with a squeeze of fresh lemon juice, and another shake of the Pul Biber chili flake and powder blend.
